Therapy Specialties in Wellesley & Across Massachusetts

Finding the right kind of therapy matters. When you're struggling with specific challenges like an eating disorder, trauma, or anxiety, working with a therapist who has specialized training and experience in those areas leads to better outcomes. At Irena Cafasso Counseling, we focus on the mental health concerns that require depth, nuance, and evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique needs.

Our therapy specialties serve adults throughout Massachusetts via secure telehealth. Whether you're in Wellesley, Greater Boston, or anywhere across the state of Massachusetts, you can access expert care that addresses the root causes of your struggles, not just surface symptoms. Below, you'll find an overview of our areas of focus and what makes our approach different.

Specialized Therapy We Provide

What Makes Our Care Different

Integrated modalities

We combine psychodynamic therapy (understanding patterns and roots) with ACT, DBT-informed strategies, and mindfulness so you gain both insight and actionable skills.

Treatment is trauma-informed and HAES-aligned, with sensitivity to culture, identity, and lived experience.

Measurable, collaborative progress

We set goals together, check in regularly, and adjust what isn’t working.  Expect concrete tools scripts, worksheets, micro-habits, and weekly experiments to make change realistic in daily life.

Coordinated care when helpful

For eating disorders and complex presentations, we can collaborate (with your consent) with your PCP, dietitian, or other providers to support medical safety and sustainable progress.

Secure statewide telehealth

Sessions are delivered via a HIPAA-secure platform. If you are physically in Massachusetts at the time of session, you’re eligible for care. We’ll share privacy tips (headphones, environment) so therapy feels focused and safe.
